The De Sloovere-Pienne Champagne estate stands as a proud testament to the savoir-faire passed down through five generations. Situated on the enchanting heights of the Côteaux Sud d’Epernay, the Ardre Valley, the Côte des Blancs, and the Marne Valley, the estate embraces the distinctive terroir of the Champagne region.
At De Sloovere-Pienne, the cuvées are meticulously crafted, striking a delicate balance between tradition and modernity. The estate’s 8-hectare vineyard, cultivated using sustainable viticulture practices, provides the cornerstone for their exceptional Champagnes. Daring to blend the three classic Champagne grape varieties—Meunier, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay—their wines possess a nuanced equilibrium and a notable structure.

Chantal and Émeline De Sloovere, an exceptional mother-daughter team, work tirelessly to emphasize the quality and diversity of their Champagnes. Émeline, who assumed stewardship of the estate from her grandfather Alain Pienne in 2015, brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the family legacy. Her extensive travels to other vineyards have enriched her knowledge and inspired innovative practices. With an unwavering commitment to authenticity, Émeline ferments different terroirs separately using indigenous yeasts and avoids cold stabilization or filtration. This meticulous approach ensures that each cuvée embodies the purest expression of the Champagne terroir, relying exclusively on first-press juices.

The roots of De Sloovere-Pienne run deep, both in terms of heritage and geography. Émeline grew up on the farm where her family still resides—a historic site dating back to the 12th century. Originally serving as a reserve for a neighboring fortress, the farm was transformed into a vineyard in the late 19th century, and it remains the heart of their winemaking operations.
In a momentous stride forward, the De Sloovere family opened a restaurant on the estate in July 2020. The restaurant showcases the finest produce sourced directly from their organic garden, which not only delights guests but also contributes to the biodiversity of the terroir.
Environmental sustainability lies at the core of De Sloovere-Pienne’s philosophy. The estate has embarked on an ambitious trajectory of ecological transition, aiming to reduce chemical usage and restore biodiversity. Since 2016, no herbicides or pesticides have been employed in the vineyard, allowing nature to flourish and the grapes to embody the true essence of Champagne.
