Emanuel is Head of Wine at Gordon Ramsay Group. When growing up, Emanuel’s family called him “the perfect host”, so it was only natural that he has ascended through a wide variety of roles within the hospitality industry in recognition of his performance and service delivery.

Before joining Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, he worked first as a chef, and then moved on to Restaurant Manager then Bar Manager, Head Sommelier and finally Food and Beverage Operations Manager over 20 years between Crystal Cruises, Red Carnations Hotel group, Oxford and Cambridge Club, Intercontinental Hotel Group, Edwardian Hotel Group and 67 Pall Mall Club.

In 2014 he was included in the top 12 Best Sommeliers in the UK. During this time, he has seen more than 3,000 cities around the world, enjoying fine food and wine experiences as he went.

Emanuel is all about how wine can make you feel after the first sip. This liquid has taken him to science, history, tradition, and even to nature. He believes that drinking wine is all about the experience and the memories.

Emanuel says that “a good sommelier has to be a psychologist, a counselor, an artist and a performer! As well is someone who will talk to the customer about what they like, rather than what the sommelier likes. He is a point of reference for the customer budget and what they are looking for.”
