Stefan Sulzer is a 45-year-old wine enthusiast from Münster, Germany. Being a school teacher by profession, he also finds time to develop his understanding and competence in the wine sector. More than 20 years ago he started tasting wines with a friend who worked in a wineshop. Since then wine became the true passion for Stefan and uncountable blind tastings have followed. At least every two weeks he meets with his wine friends where everyone brings five bottles so there are always new interesting wines to write about on the social media.

From time to time Stefan makes collaborations with winemakers or shops to feature certain wines, of course under the premise that it’s a good wine! To really judge a wine you don’t know what’s in the glass, only then you can be objective in your judgment. Stefan loves visiting wine trade fairs like the ProWein to be aware of new trends and to expand his knowledge of wine. Apart from that, he often travels to wine regions on vacations to get inspired from unbelievable landscapes and stories shared by winemakers.

Stefan strongly believes that Riesling is the best grape variety in the world and Germany offers the best conditions for it to grow. The versatility is endless, dry or sweet, old or young, elegant or powerful and though Germany is not that big the 13 different wine regions offer different aromes as well. German Spätburgunder is different from the french style but becomes more popular each year and shows fantastic qualities too.
