DipWSET

Xingyu hass always loved wine but seriously got into it in 2015, when she decided to pursue WSET to get better educated. As she started to taste more, it became difficult to remember what they each tasted like, so she started to write tasting notes in an artistic way. She believes that the quality of a wine is objective, and we definitely need a reference and some basic notes to get an idea of the wine. A photo tasting note is much more powerful and makes it easier to remember the wines she had, and for others to get a better understanding of the wines they are about to try.

She started her account “Winememoir” on Instagram in 2017 and today she uses social media as a platform to bridge the communication gap between the producers and consumers. Wine is still intimidating to most people, and it is hard to get out of your comfort zone. Her purpose is to encourage people to learn, to try, to ask questions – it’s all about broadening the horizon and keeping an open mind, and hopefully, they would feel more relatable and accessible.

She is an explorer herself and loves traveling around the world to try different wines and learn about the regions, from classic Napa Valley and Burgundy, to rising stars like Argentina and China, and she’s thrilled to share her experience with you all!
