Cantine Bonacchi
Quarrata, Italy
Located in the picturesque region of Montalbano, Cantine Bonacchi has been dedicated to producing, vinifying, bottling, and marketing the finest Tuscan wines for three generations. With four farms strategically located throughout Tuscany, the winery boasts a total of 40 hectares of vineyards in Chianti Montalbano, 23 hectares in Chianti Classico’s Casalino Farm in Castelnuovo Berardenga, 11 hectares in Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino, 12 hectares in Chianti Colli Senesi and Vermentino in the Molino della Suga farm in Montalcino, and 4.4 hectares in Bolgheri since December 2022.
The winery’s capacity exceeds 60,000 hectoliters, thanks to a combination of traditional oak barrels, barriques, tonneaux, and modern stainless steel tanks. At Cantine Bonacchi, winemaking and bottling are carried out in a state-of-the-art facility, comprising two lines: one exclusively dedicated to Bordeaux bottles, fully automated and capable of producing 9,000 bottles per hour, and another for double Bordolese and traditional straw flasks, with a production capacity of up to 3,000 pieces per hour. These bottling plants, along with the expansive cellar storage, enable the winery to cater to any demand.

.
With an annual production of over 3,000,000 bottles, Cantine Bonacchi serves both the domestic and international markets. To ensure quality and organizational excellence, the company holds ISO 9001/2015, BRC, and IFS certifications.
The Bonacchi dynasty traces its roots back to Enrico Bonacchi, the great-grandfather of Andrea Bonacchi, the current torchbearer of the family tradition. Enrico established the foundation of the Bonacchi vineyards in Tuscany in the late 19th century, starting as a small grower in the same area where the vineyards stand today. Enrico’s son, Pio Bonacchi, continued the family business, expanding their holdings by acquiring additional land from neighboring farmers and cultivating it into vineyards.
.
.
In 1965, Giovanni Bonacchi, Andrea’s father, took the reins of the business and sought to expand their production of Chianti. He acquired the Montemagno Estate, which encompassed 100 acres of vineyards in the Chianti Montalbano area. As the business grew, the Bonacchi family established a commercial presence in the local and international markets, culminating in the construction of a new winery in Quarrata in the late 1980s.
In 1999, Casalino Estates, spanning 60 acres of vineyards in the heart of the renowned Chianti Classico Black Roster region, became part of the Bonacchi portfolio. Two years later, in 2001, the family acquired the Molino della Suga Estate, covering 25 acres between Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino.
.
.
Following Giovanni’s retirement, Andrea Bonacchi, the fourth generation, took the reins and continued to elevate the prestige of the Bonacchi brand. Today, their wines are enjoyed in over 20 countries worldwide.
The winery’s commitment to quality and tradition is evident in every bottle, representing the culmination of generations of winemaking expertise and a true testament.
