Pillitteri Estates Winery
Ontario, Canada
Since their arrival in Niagara, Canada in 1948, the Pillitteri family has been steadfast in their commitment to building a legacy that will endure for generations to come. Today, over six decades later, Pillitteri Estates Winery proudly carries forward this tradition of viticulture and winemaking excellence, with three generations actively involved in the winery’s operations.
Each bottle of wine produced by the Pillitteri family is a true reflection of their passion, dedication, and love for the craft. It is with immense pride that they share the fruits of their labor with wine enthusiasts worldwide, considering every person who enjoys a glass of Pillitteri wine as an integral part of their extended family.

.
The journey of Pillitteri Estates Winery began in 1993, but its roots can be traced back to the family-owned “Gary’s Fruit Market.” As the market grew into a popular destination for locals and visitors to Niagara-on-the-Lake, so did the interest in Niagara wines.
Recognizing the region’s potential, Gary Pillitteri took the bold step of planting wine grapes, establishing the family’s first vineyards. In 1988, Gary decided to experiment with crafting a small batch of Vidal Icewine. To his delight, the Icewine went on to win a prestigious gold medal in a wine competition, solidifying his vision to open a winery in the emerging Niagara wine industry.

One of the standout features of Pillitteri Estates Winery is its remarkable barrel cellar, designed in a Neo Norman architectural style. The cellar exudes a sense of antiquity with its concrete texture and simple yet elegant form. A staggering 1,350 metric tons of concrete were used in its construction. The centerpiece of the cellar is an immense monolithic concrete table boasting a terrazzo surface, stretching an impressive 500 inches in length. Arguably the longest concrete table in existence, it serves as a captivating focal point.
Adorning the walls are twenty-three stainless steel chairs, each engraved to commemorate significant dates in the winery’s history. These chairs symbolically tell the story of the Pillitteri family, with a small triangle above one of the 23 circles on each chair’s back indicating its position at the table.
.

.
At Pillitteri Estates Winery, they focus on a selection of primary grape varietals that thrive in thier region. These include Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, and Vidal. Each varietal showcases the best of what the Niagara Peninsula has to offer, allowing them to craft exceptional wines that reflect the terroir and climate of their vineyards.
.

.
Pillitteri Estates Winery stands as a testament to the Pillitteri family’s dedication to producing exceptional wines and creating an unforgettable experience for wine enthusiasts. Their commitment to craftsmanship, family values, and preserving their legacy shines through in every bottle. As you savor a glass of Pillitteri wine, you become a part of their extended family, sharing in the passion and artistry that has defined their winemaking journey for over six decades.
