Phelps Creek Vineyards, established in 1990, is a distinguished boutique winery situated in the heart of the Columbia Gorge region. With a primary focus on estate-grown Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varietals, the winery takes pride in producing a total of 5,000 cases of wine annually. The key to their success lies in the meticulous care given to their vineyards, combining sustainable agricultural practices with careful management of fruit yields on the vines, resulting in wines of remarkable depth and intensity.
Leading the winemaking team is the highly talented Alexandrine Roy, who brings her extensive experience and a deep understanding of traditional winemaking techniques passed down through four generations of her winemaking family in Burgundy, France. Serving as the Director of Winemaking, Alexandrine’s contributions have been instrumental in the winery’s pursuit of excellence.

The collaboration between Alexandrine and the winery’s founder, Bob Morus, began unexpectedly in 2007 when they met at the International Pinot Noir Celebration. Recognizing the similarities in their respective terroirs, a winemaking partnership was forged, driven by a shared passion for creating exceptional wines.
Originally invited to produce a special cuvée from the estate’s Pinot Noir, Alexandrine’s role quickly expanded to encompass her expertise in all of the winery’s offerings. Her timeless techniques steeped in French tradition have elevated the quality and finesse of the winemaking process.

Phelps Creek Vineyards embarked on their winemaking journey with the planting of their oldest Pinot Noir vines in 1990, followed by the introduction of a block of Dijon clone Chardonnay two years later. The vineyards have since grown to cover a total of 34 acres, including 25 acres dedicated to Pinot Noir, 4.5 acres to Chardonnay, and 1/2 acre to Pinot Gris. In addition to their estate fruit, the winery explores the cultivation of “alternative whites” on Underwood Mountain, located just across the Columbia River.
Phelps Creek Vineyards not only offers exceptional wines but also provides visitors with an opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty of the vineyards. The welcoming tasting room invites guests to savor the fruits of their labor while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
