Passaggio Wines is woman-owned and -operated by Cindy Cosco out of Treasure Island in San Francisco. Her focus and attention to Old World-style wines are a reflection of her style and vision. Cindy’s vision is about a great deal more than the production of outstanding wine. “Wine is a passion of mine,” Cindy says. I remember these incredible dinners around the table with family, food, and wine.” It’s no surprise that her wines are lighter in style and made to pair with food.

As a winemaker, Cindy Cosco never stops evolving. ‘Passaggio,’ Italian for ‘passageway,’ reflects her winemaking journey — new adventures with each vintage, exploring traditional and off-the-beaten-path varieties. She is very fortunate to be able to source hard-to-find grape varietals along with traditional ones.

She takes great pride in her craft, assessing each vineyard and choosing the optimal time to harvest the grapes. She works for hands-on throughout the entire process, from pressing to vinification to bottling. “Winemaking is all about taking the fruit you are given and bringing out its very best. I love making different varietals that people rarely hear about or have tasted. That’s what’s fun.” Cindy says.
