Ori Marani

Winery Star

Wine Leaders' Choice

Igoeti, Georgia

Ori Marani, a small artisanal winery is nestled on the Caucasus Mountain of Georgia, in the village of Igoeti in Shida Kartli region. Winery was established in 2017. Ori Marani’s primary focus is the artisanal production of sparkling wines. In addition, they also make confidential still wines cuvees.

All the grapes used for their sparkling wines are coming either from Imereti, Shida Karlti and since harvest 2021, Lechkhumi regions. Indeed, those 3 regions allows grapes to mature slowly under cool climatics conditions allowing the grapes to gain richness without loosing freshness. Shida Kartli’s soil made of limestone gives to their wines minerality and Imeretian clay confers power and richness.

Terroir and a sense of place are the most essential common denominators in wines. Ori Marani combines both Georgian and occidental winemaking sensitivities in order to express the best of the Georgian terroir. Every wine is fermented and aged in Qvevri and old French oak barrels with its indigenous yeast without any additives, at the exception of a small amount of sulphur.
