Domaine de La Pousse d'Or

Volnay, France

The foundations of the house date back to the 16th century and evolved in the 17th century, in the manner of the bourgeois houses built under the reign of Louis XIV. The history of the estate is known precisely from the French revolution, in 1789. Since the end of the last century, Patrick Landanger has owned the estate. He has made important investments in the vineyards as well as in the vinification and maturing facilities. He is joined by his son, Benoît, who has been helping him with the vinification since 2013. Their ambitions in terms of quality are reflected in a deep respect for the terroirs they work. The biodynamic certification will complete this choice.

Biodynamic vineyards, slow and natural winemaking methods, wines aged on lees for 18 months, including 12 months in oak barrels, a constant and rigorous quality of work, give the wines of La Pousse d’Or a great aptitude for aging. Le Domaine de La Pousse d’Or is distinguished by its 7 grands crus, 11 premiers crus including 3 monopoles, in the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Offering the purest expression of their exceptional terroirs has been the Domaine’s obsession for centuries.
