Kemal Can Ocak is a wine lover from Turkey. He discovered this passion while he was traveling with his camera from village to village and examining different grape varieties. Kemal has a DipWSET certififcation and he won the wine marketing award in Austria in 2019. Now, by combining his passion for wine and photography , he continues making photos of the world’s best wines with a series he calls @wineisanart.

Kemal knows and loves his home country. He often says that Turkey can become the global center of attraction in terms of wine tourism. The country’s wine sector has seen its ups and downs. However, Kemal mentions, that boutique wine makers have significantly improved the wine quality has increased recently and now they are making great wines. Although Turkey is a very small wine producer, he thinks there are a lot of domestic winelovers appearing everywhere This is the effect of social media: wine bloggers and wine professional who are communicating about wine.
Kemal believes that if Turkey produces Turkish style wines using its local grape varieties, then the country will be able to attract the attention of international wine lovers. Apart from that, as a wine influencer, Kemal says that the increasing use of social media is highly effective in shaping consumer preferences not only in Turkey but also globally.
