Isis Daniel, known as The Millennial Somm (TMS), is a certified Level 3, with Merit, Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) sommelier from Washington, DC. While dedicating 5 years to the Hospitality Industry, she fell in love with wine and decided to refocus her career.
During her vino journey, she recognized the lack of accessibility and intimidation due to exclusivity. As a millennial, she knew it was time to make the inaccessible, accessible and the exclusive, personal. Thus, she created “The Millennial Somm ” with the mission to cultivate the next generation of wine lovers via entertainment, education and authenticity.
Every Monday, Isis hosts her TikTok Live Wine Tastings. However Thursday’s are the star of every week with #TastingThursday! This 2 hour Live Event on TikTok and Instagram, allows viewers to taste new wines and interact with TMS guests. She has become the face of #winetok with her educational wine content and hilarious TikTok alter egos “Mrs Suzanne Thee Wine Snob” and “Chardonny.”
Isis’ dedication to creating inclusive and educational wine content has led her to being La Crema’s Pop-Up Tour Ambassador, a moderator at DTC Wine Symposium, owner of TMS Clubs and featured in Wine Enthusiast’s 40 Under 40 Tastemakers.
A survey published by the SevenFifty Daily reported that 2% of professionals in the wine industry identify as African American or African, while 84% identify as white. The disparity of representation molds the perception of the world of wine. And with this reality comes an all too familiar exclusive intimidation of wine knowledge, technique and etiquette.

When the wine industry allows itself to be seen and accessed with its true sense of passion, community, and curiosity, the industry will reflect the next generation of wine lovers. Millennials and Zillennials are diverse in race and individuality. They thirst to learn but they want to be entertained. Isis’ question is, “How do we appeal to the future of wine?” The answer is, “to shatter the old perception and evolve, or risk being left behind.”
