Masters of Wine

Harriet Tindall – MW

By WIA2 Mins Read

When it comes to wine, the very top qualification is a Master of Wine, and there are just 384 MWs (as they are known) in the world; and of those, 131 are female. With four young boys, Harriet Tindal is one member of this very exclusive club.

Harriet is part of the family founded Irish company Tindal Wine Merchants – Fine Wine Importer of the year in 2017 and 2018. She is a director of Searsons Wine Merchants (Irish Rhône wine retail outlet of the year 2018), a quietly understated wine shop in Dublin and more recently Tankersley Wine Brokers, where she buys and sells fine wines globally.

Harriet educates through her WSET courses, blogs on all related Tindal websites and holds regular wine events. Her presentations, tastings and writings engage consumers through their informal, lively and informative style.

With four young boys, Harriet Tindal is the most recent member of this very exclusive club, joining Lynne Coyle of O’Briens Wine, Barbara Boyle of Wine Mason, and Jane Boyce of James Nicholson Wine in Belfast.

The Institute of Masters of Wine – IMW

The Institute of Masters of Wine is a professional body with an unsurpassed international reputation. Their Members, Masters of Wine (MWs), hold the most respected title in the world of wine. MWs have proved their understanding of all aspects of wine by passing the Master of Wine (MW) examination, recognised worldwide for its rigour and high standards.
