Elizabeth Gabay

Elizabeth Gabay has been in the wine trade since 1986, promoting the wines of Provence in the UK. In 1998, she passed the rigorous Master of Wine exams and became a specialist in the South of France, Central Europe, and rosé. Elizabeth has written about and lectured on rosé wines extensively, establishing herself as a world authority on pink wines. She became a Master of Wine in 1998. She has also judged at Decanter’s annual World Wine Awards as well as at many other competitions, including the Mondial de Rosé, the Guide de Vins de Provence, and for magazine panel tastings for Decanter and Drinks Business.

After taking a small break from active wine work to move to the Prealps north of Nice for a change of lifestyle, Elizabeth is now based between Provence, the Rhone/Languedoc, Liguria, and Piedmont. She has authored multiple books, including “Rosé: Understanding the Pink Wine Revolution” in 2018 and “Rosés of Southern France”, co-authored with her son and out now. 

Elizabeth also works extensively with wines from across Central Europe and has been making her own wine in Slovakia in partnership with Vladimir Magula, with the first vintage set to be released very soon. She also works with her husband David (Harvard MBA) on consultancy projects.
