Maison Guigal

Winery Star

Wine Leaders' Choice

Ampuis, France

Founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in Ampuis, the heart of the Côte-Rôtie appellation with a winemaking history of over 2,400 years, the Guigal domain has a remarkable legacy. After making wine for 67 vintages in the Côte-Rôtie and contributing to the Vidal-Fleury establishment, Marcel Guigal took over in 1961 with his wife Bernadette, expanding the family business. Today, their son Philippe and his wife Eve represent the third generation, dedicated to crafting exceptional wines from the Rhône Valley.

The Guigal domain is home to exceptional vineyards, including Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Saint-Joseph, and Crozes-Hermitage. These vineyards yield prestigious wines, showcasing the excellence of the domain. Embracing a passion for winemaking and a commitment to high standards, the Guigal family cherishes the unique terroir formed by the Rhône River, with its steep terraced landscape.

Maison Guigal places sustainability and respect for the soil’s ecosystem at the core of its values. Through harmonious viticulture practices, from terrace cultivation to vine care, the family preserves the vineyards while nourishing the land. This unwavering dedication to environmental stewardship reflects their profound connection to the vineyards and the wines they produce, all while serving the finest wines of the Rhône Valley.
