Domaine Chanson, a renowned winery, takes pride in owning historical properties such as “La Tour des Filles” or “Bastion de l’Oratoire.” The origins of this fortified tower trace back to the mid 15th century when it was built on the old battlements of Beaune, a town in Burgundy, constructed by the first dukes of Burgundy. Over time, it played a crucial strategic role due to its location near the borders of a newly expanded Kingdom and was fortified to protect the town and its inhabitants. In the 9th century, during the flourishing wine trade era, Alexis Chanson, the headmaster of the House, expanded the structure to accommodate the growing collection of wines. Today, the Bastion houses over 10,000 bottles of wine, benefiting from its thick walls that shield the wines from sunburn and harsh winter conditions.

Among them are the beautiful villages of Côte de Beaune, including Santenay, Chassagne Montrachet, Puligny Montrachet, Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pernand Vergelesses, and Corton. Domaine Chanson has earned a reputation as one of the foremost specialists in Premier Crus in the charming town of Beaune, boasting ownership of 25 hectares in the ten most beautiful Beaune Premiers Crus.
