Champagne Lombard
Épernay, France
When it comes to prestigious sparkling wines, few names command as much reverence as Champagne Lombard. Since its establishment in 1925, Champagne Lombard has stood as a beacon of elegance, craftsmanship, and unparalleled quality within the Champagne region. Across generations, this renowned champagne house has delighted connoisseurs and champagne enthusiasts worldwide with its exceptional range of cuvées, each capturing the essence of artistry and expertise.
Champagne Lombard’s illustrious history began nearly a century ago in Épernay, the heartland of Champagne. Founded by the visionary winemaker Robert Andrieu, the house swiftly gained recognition for its outstanding champagnes. Balancing tradition and innovation, Lombard has remained faithful to its heritage while embracing modern techniques to refine its craft.

Today, Champagne Lombard is proudly managed by the fourth generation of the Lombard family, represented by Thomas Lombard, who gave a renewal approach of the House by bringing his vision of terroir-champagne. With their own vineyard covering over 6 hectares and an additional 55 hectares in partnership with winegrowers, their winemaking domain extends across a significant expanse. Lombard’s vineyards encompass some of Champagne’s most esteemed cru. In pursuit of champagnes that truly reflect their terroir, they decide to focus on meticulous selection. The choice of grape varieties for harvesting is fundamental to their production methods.
At Champagne Lombard, craftsmanship is held in the highest regard. Each bottle is meticulously handcrafted, showcasing unwavering attention to detail. From grape to glass, the winemaking process is an intricate art, demanding expertise and precision at every step.

Working primarily with Premier Cru and Grand Cru terroirs, the winery focuses on crafting exceptional Champagnes. They offer two distinct ranges: the Signature range, which comprises blends sourced from various terroirs, and the Terroir range, featuring single-village and single-plot vintages. Emphasizing their commitment to quality, the winery exclusively vinifies Champagnes with low and no dosage, specifically extra brut and brut nature. Notably, the Terroir range showcases their expertise in zero dosage Champagnes, highlighting their skill in creating wines of exceptional purity and expression.
Utilizing traditional methods, including meticulous hand-harvesting and gentle pressing techniques, the winery ensures the extraction of the purest juice from the grapes. The fermentation process takes place either in stainless steel tanks or oak barrels, tailored to each specific champagne produced. Following this, the champagnes undergo an extensive aging period in the cellars. With a minimum aging duration of 3 years for Extra Brut and 4 years for Brut Nature, the champagnes are given ample time to develop their distinctive character and complexity. Finally, the champagnes are disgorged, completing the meticulous process that yields exceptional expressions of taste and quality.

.
The dedication to excellence has garnered Champagne Lombard numerous accolades and international recognition. Its champagnes have been honored with prestigious titles, including medals at renowned wine competitions and high ratings from esteemed wine critics. These accolades solidify Lombard’s position as a leading champagne house, cherished for its unwavering commitment to quality and remarkable taste.
Champagne Lombard embodies the epitome of fine craftsmanship, passion, and dedication in the realm of champagne. With a rich history, an unwavering commitment to quality, and an exceptional portfolio of champagnes, Lombard continues to captivate wine lovers and set new standards of excellence. As you uncork a bottle of Champagne Lombard, you embark on an exquisite journey, where every sip reveals the mastery and artistry that has defined this esteemed champagne house for nearly a century.
