Champagne PANNIER’s story began in 1899 with Louis-Eugène Pannier. Originally located in Dizy, near Epernay, the brand quickly gained recognition for its craftsmanship and traditional methods. In 1937, a new chapter unfolded as Champagne PANNIER moved to Château-Thierry in the Marne Valley. This relocation provided access to magnificent medieval stone quarries, now transformed into cellars where their cuvées mature. These historic cellars, dating back to the 12th century, played a vital role in constructing the city of Château-Thierry.

In 1974, the Union of Growers, COVAMA, took over Champagne PANNIER, making it their flagship brand. They placed a strong emphasis on quality, which became the driving force behind the House’s growth and success. The values of the brand, such as quality, balance, and skill, are embodied in the medieval cellars of House Pannier.

Champagne Pannier, situated in the beautiful Marne Valley, sources premium grapes from the finest Champagne vineyards. They carefully blend delicate Chardonnay from Côte des Blancs, fruit-forward Meunier from the Marne Valley, and structured Pinot Noir from Montagne de Reims. Their supplies come from esteemed Champagne Crus, including renowned vineyards like Mailly, Verzy, Ambonnay, Verzenay, Cramant, and Chouilly. With 30% from the Marne Valley, 35% from Montagne de Reims, and 35% from Côte des Blancs, they create a rich range of wines. Their expertise with the Meunier grape adds exceptional fruity character and gastronomic appeal to their champagnes.

With meticulous care, Champagne Pannier cultivates grapes across 70 hectares, carefully selected by their dedicated team from various regions of Champagne. A third of these hectares belong to the 700 hectares owned by cooperative members. The cooperative winegrowers of COVAMA actively engage in the ongoing process of obtaining VDC and HVE certifications. Their collective aim is to have 100% of the vineyard areas certified by the year 2023, showcasing their commitment to sustainability and responsible practices.

Pannier’s exceptional champagnes are a result of their masterful blending technique. Led by Cellar Master Yann MUNIER, the House crafts each champagne with precision and artistry. Their range showcases a harmonious blend of black grapes (Pinot Noir and Meunier) and a significant proportion of Chardonnay. With a state-of-the-art production site that balances tradition and technology, Pannier ensures consistent quality throughout their offerings.

Champagne Pannier primarily distributes through on-trade channels and cellar door sales. They have a 100% distribution focus in these areas. Internationally, they export 60% of their production, with key markets in the USA, Japan, and Scandinavian countries. In France, their champagnes are found in prestigious establishments like hotels, restaurants, and wine shops, as well as being available for direct sales at the cellar.

The international acclaim received by Pannier champagnes is a testament to their exceptional quality, solidifying their position as highly sought-after and revered products in the global hospitality and gourmet markets.
