Masters of Wine
Christy is a Master of Wine who lives between Brooklyn and the vineyards of the world. She was the 7th woman in the US to earn the MW title and there are just over 50 Masters of Wine in the US. Her wine career began after a tour in finance that began in Dallas and ended in New York by way of Paris, where her budding passion for wine was cemented. She is a speaker and media host, a writer, a consultant, a critic and more. In 2014, the Roederer Awards short-listed her for the Online Wine Communicator of the Year Award. Her work has been published by many magazines like Decanter, Wine Enthusiast, Tim Atkin, among others.
As a speaker and media host, her recent appearances include Wine Masters TV, Wine Empowered, Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair, Napa Valley Wine Academy and many more. She is the Consulting Editor of the GOURMAND AWARD-winning book, Rock and Vine. She is also the Italian Wine Editor for three other books: Sunday Pasta, Garrubbo Guide: The Importance of Eating Italian and the Professional Wine Reference.
She has directed extensive wine programs for fine-dining restaurant groups. She oversaw 16 restaurants as the National Wine Director for Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group, with whom she opened two new restaurants. As a Panel Chair at the International Wine Challenge and as a reviewer for Wine Enthusiast’s Importer Connection, she critiques and judges wines from around the world. She also has led or judged with panels at Decanter World Wine Awards, Argentina World Wine Awards, TEXSOM International Wine Awards and Singapore’s Wine Pinnacle Awards to name just a few.

The Institute of Masters of Wine is the home of exceptional expertise in the wine world. What started 70 years ago as an exam for the UK wine trade is now a globally recognised title collectively held by a worldwide family of Masters of Wine. Today, there are over 416 MWs based in 31 countries, each making their own contribution to the world of wine. Becoming an MW means entering a unique wine community; one that brings enriching personal and professional opportunities, as well as lifelong friendships.
