Caves Languedoc Roussillon

Montpellier, France

For over 39 years, Caves Languedoc Roussillon has been deeply rooted in the Languedoc region, making significant contributions to the local wine-growing economy. The story began in 1984 when Paul Chebille and Olivier Robin, driven by their passion for wine, embarked on a journey to become a part of the wine-producing scene. Today, under the leadership of Chloé and Nicolas Chebille, this family-owned company remains committed to supporting the region’s wine growers and elevating their reputation on an international scale.

The early 1980s marked a transformative period for wine-growing in the Languedoc region. It was during this time that Les Caves Languedoc Roussillon was established as a unique model, born out of the economic and structural challenges faced by the industry. Paul Chebille and Olivier Robin aimed to not only promote wine-growing but also preserve its traditions, environment, and the people involved. Their shared vision and complementary skills led them to create one of the first organizations dedicated to independent wine-makers and cooperative cellars in southern France.

As ambassadors of the region, Les Caves Languedoc Roussillon represents its values, its people, and its diverse terroirs with unwavering passion and conviction. Through collaborative efforts and shared commitments, they have achieved remarkable results both in France and internationally. Over the past three and a half decades, they have consistently offered high-quality wines sourced from sustainably cultivated vines, adhering to their specific requirements.

The expertise of Caves Languedoc Roussillon lies in their ability to continuously question themselves and adapt to market demands. Fueled by their passion and supported by a network of wine-growing partners, they are at the forefront of shaping the wines of tomorrow. The strong bonds they have forged with their wine-growers, some of whom come from three generations of wine-making families, are built on trust and shared values.

Each wine produced by Caves Languedoc Roussillon tells a unique story, emanating from a vineyard, château, or domaine where reputations are cultivated. All their wines are exclusively estate-bottled under the careful supervision of the wine-growers themselves. They sell only the wines they produce and blend, ensuring perfect traceability for all their products, which comply fully with industry standards and regulations. Moreover, their main permanent bottling site holds prestigious certifications such as IFS (International Featured Standard) and BRC (British Retail Consumer).

Respecting the environment has always been a core principle at Caves Languedoc Roussillon, and they actively encourage their wine-growing partners to adopt the same mindset. In 2011, they published an Eco-Attitude Charter, which embodies the principles of eco-design. The wine-growers who embrace the Eco-Attitude concept represent a new vision of the profession, prioritizing sustainable development and progress.

They cultivate vineyards using organic or sustainable methods, as certified by national and international labels such as AB Bio and Terra Vitis. The Eco-Attitude Charter integrates environmental considerations into the creation of their products, employing lightweight bottles made from recycled glass, FSC certified corks, REVIPAC recycled boxes, and engaging a Print Environment certified printer.

Caves Languedoc Roussillon stands as a testament to the dedication and passion of its founders, and the ongoing commitment of the Chebille family. Their unwavering support for the local wine-growing community, their emphasis on sustainability, and their pursuit of excellence in wine-making have established them as a prominent force in the Languedoc region and beyond.
