At Bergström Wines, a family’s dream and a legacy in winemaking have come to life. Founded by John and Karen Bergström, their journey began with a vision to establish a business that would endure through generations and honor John’s agricultural upbringing in Sweden. Settling in Dundee, they planted the Bergström Vineyard on a beautiful south-facing slope, marking the start of their winemaking adventure.

The pivotal moment arrived in 1999 when their son, Josh Bergström, returned from a prestigious program in Viticulture and Enology in France with his fiancée Caroline. Together, they harvested their first vintage of Pinot Noir, giving birth to Bergström Wines. Today, Josh serves as the winery’s general manager and winemaker, while Caroline skillfully manages the sales team.

The foundation of Bergström Wines is deeply rooted in family heritage and the American dream pursued by John, who ventured from Sweden to Oregon as a young teenager. After successful years as a surgeon and raising their five children, the call to return to his agricultural roots beckoned him towards winemaking. Today, the Bergström family proudly shares their vision and passion for ultra-premium wines with fellow enthusiasts, crafting sought-after Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays, and Syrah under the gargantua label, all farmed with care and without harsh chemicals on their five estate vineyards spread across three appellations of the Willamette Valley.
