Domaine Drouhin Oregon

Oregon, United States

Domaine Drouhin Oregon, a renowned winery rooted in the rich traditions of Burgundy and Oregon, embraces a family-centric approach to winemaking. The Drouhin Family’s legacy in the wine industry traces back over a century, firmly establishing their expertise in Burgundy’s finest vineyards. This profound connection between Maison Joseph Drouhin and Domaine Drouhin Oregon forms a seamless continuum.

Located atop the picturesque Dundee Hills in the Willamette Valley, Domaine Drouhin Oregon exudes elegance. The estate, which has been carefully cultivated for over 30 years, produces exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines. The gentle slopes of the Dundee Hills, caressed by cool breezes and abundant sunshine, contribute to the creation of fruit that is truly world-class.

The visionary Robert Drouhin’s dream of establishing an Oregon estate winery on par with the great vineyards of Burgundy has become a reality at Domaine Drouhin Oregon. Starting with initial test plantings of cloned Pinot Noir rootstock, the estate has expanded to encompass 135 acres of hillside vineyards. In addition to Pinot Noir, 13 acres of Chardonnay are strategically interplanted, mirroring the Burgundian tradition. All plantings at Domaine Drouhin Oregon are exclusive to the estate, with rootstocks carefully selected to optimize the specific characteristics of the vineyard sites.

The vineyards at Domaine Drouhin Oregon are farmed sustainably, reflecting the family’s commitment to environmentally friendly practices. The vines, densely planted, are meticulously tended by hand, ensuring optimal quality. Every stage of the winemaking process, from leaf and fruit thinning to the harvest, is executed with unwavering attention to detail.

Beyond their Oregon estate, the Drouhin family maintains vineyard holdings at Maison Joseph Drouhin in Beaune, France, and Roserock Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills. These esteemed locations, each with unique terroirs, further exemplify the family’s dedication to winemaking excellence.

Domaine Drouhin Oregon offers a range of exceptional wines, including the Domaine Drouhin, Roserock, and Joseph Drouhin labels. Wine enthusiasts can indulge in three distinct tasting experiences. The Drouhin Oregon Experience presents a seated comparative tasting of six wines, including the flagship Cuvée Laurène. The 1880 Connection offers a unique opportunity to compare wines made from grapes grown 7,500 miles apart, showcasing the family’s expertise in both Oregon and Burgundy. Lastly, the Will Call Pick-Up allows visitors to conveniently collect pre-purchased wines or make selections on-site.

.

For those seeking ongoing wine enjoyment, Domaine Drouhin Oregon’s Wine Club offers exclusive benefits. Club members receive automatic shipments of the core wines, benefiting from generous discounts and complimentary tastings at both Domaine Drouhin Oregon and Maison Joseph Drouhin in France. Access to library wines, special bottles, and new releases further enhances the club experience, while the wine selections may vary based on availability.

At Domaine Drouhin Oregon, the Drouhin family’s unwavering commitment to detail, discipline, and a relentless pursuit of excellence has solidified their position as one of the world’s most esteemed winemakers. Whether savoring their wines or becoming part of their Wine Club, wine enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the extraordinary legacy and passion of the Drouhin family.

Acquisition of Methven Family Vineyards

In 2022 Domaine Drouhin Oregon has expanded its footprint in Willamette Valley’s Eola-Amity Hills AVA through the acquisition of Methven Family Vineyards. The deal involves the purchase of a winery facility, visitor space, and around 85 acres, which includes 30 acres of LIVE-certified sustainable vineyards planted with Chardonnay, Gamay Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Riesling. Despite the change of ownership, the Methven family will retain their brand and continue operation of their downtown Dundee tasting room. The newly acquired vineyard fits well with their existing holdings and will help drive future plans in the region.
